Update:
this is the first week that the six interns are on our own in the schools. it is such a crazy adventure. everything in kenya land is so different from america. we all have so many stories to share! we recently found 2 scorpions in our bedroom and there are always cockroaches in the toilet..gross!! haha the yucky and scary things do not outweigh the many adventures, blessings, and treasures we have discovered here. We love you all and we are headed to mombasa this weekend (big tourist place on the coast) so hopefully we will all have internet and/or phone access. keep us in your prayers, you are all in ours!!!

Yay! Glad you're all having a wonderful time. I heard the cockroaches are HUGE. Looking forward to reading the stories. Hopefully you can update this weekend in Mombasa. Have a safe and fun time K6!

Keoki and I just got back from Maui: went to Hana for 3 days, then a high school reunion for four days, including some fun stand up paddling in Lahaina -- while Casey stayed home with Stanley. I'll bet they eat goats there, but don't tell Stanley. Wish you were with us having fun, Madeline, but sounds like you're having an amazing learning/teaching time there! Stay safe.

ReplyDeleteIt is so exciting to hear about all of your adventures! And although I do not know some of you, I hope you are all enjoying yourselves and all of the little things that you encounter. I am so excited that you guys are teaching now and can only imagine how precious and eager the kids are to learn. I hope the teaching is go well for each of you and can't wait to hear stories about that. Anyway, hope you all are enjoying your getaway at the beach and are relaxing and enjoying life :)
